At D’Lis Wellness Salud Mental y Conductual, we offer a variety of mental health services in Puerto Rico, for patients of all ages who are struggling with behavioral and mental health issues. With an encouraging and compassionate staff, we have created an environment that promotes recovery, positive change, and lifelong wellness for clients and their families seeking help.
By starting our services with a confidential, comprehensive assessment, we are able to be responsive and sensitive to the individual needs of each client. This also enables us to recommend the most appropriate treatment depending on their specific circumstances and needs. We offer a full range of services, and we make certain that your care is tailored to meet your unique needs—not a “one-size-fits-all” approach.

The services we provide include:

Individual Psychology
Individual Psychology is a positive psychodynamic, goal-oriented, and short-term therapy based on the theories of Alfred Adler. It is an evidence-based treatment approach that can be used successfully in the treatment of any type of mental illness or psychological disorder and may be used in conjunction with other therapeutic approaches, such as counseling, art therapy, and play therapy.
Motivational Interviewing

Motivational Interviewing is a collaborative, empathetic counseling approach. Our clinicians ask non-judgmental and open-ended questions that help clients understand their troublesome behavior and what they can do to change it. Its five key principles include:

  • empathy expression
  • developing discrepancy
  • evading confrontations and arguments
  • adjusting to client resistance
  • supporting a client’s optimism and self-efficacy
Individual Psychotherapy
Individual Psychotherapy (also known as “individual counseling” or “counseling”) is a process wherein clients work one-on-one with a trained therapist in a confidential, safe environment. During sessions, clients are encouraged to explore their feelings, behaviors, thoughts, and beliefs, identify aspects of their life that they would like to improve or change, set personal goals, and work towards the change they want to happen. Individual psychotherapy may be used to address a variety of issues, such as depression, anxiety, trauma, and other behavioral and mental health issues.
Seeking Safety

Seeking Safety is a present-focused therapeutic approach that helps clients attain safety from substance abuse and trauma (including PTSD) through grounding techniques, coping skills development, and education. Its primary objectives include:

  • Providing clients an integrated treatment for trauma and substance abuse
  • Helping clients attain safety in emotions, behaviors, thinking, and relationships
  • Countering loss of ideals due to trauma and substance abuse

We utilize different therapeutic techniques, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, which focuses on the relationships between thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and physiological symptoms. By altering harmful thought processes, a client’s likelihood of long-term recovery improves.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapeutic technique that focuses on challenging and changing negative cognitions and behaviors. By changing these negative behaviors and thinking patterns behind a person’s difficulties, positive change can be achieved. It can be used to address a broad range of behavioral and mental health issues, including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, PTSD, and OCD, among others.
Solution-Focused Therapy
Solution-Focused Therapy (also known as “Solution-Focused Brief Therapy”) is a type of present-focused therapeutic approach conducted through the direct observation of a client’s responses to a list of precisely constructed questions. It focuses more on discussing solutions than problems. During sessions, clients are encouraged to talk about their problems to find a solution.
The Triple P- Positive Parenting Program
Backed by over 35 years of ongoing research, the Triple P- Positive Parenting Program is one of the most effective parenting programs. It provides parents with easy-to-follow, practical strategies that will help them build strong relationships with their family and children. It helps them confidently manage their child’s behavior and prevent further problems from developing.
